Social Media Strategy

for a non-profit in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on criminal justice reform.

Date

October 2021 - present

Brief

This organization does incredible work but their online presence didn't reflect that - my task was to give the audience of staff, donors, and program alumni multiple opportunities to engage and encourage them to make donations.

What I Did

I developed a robust content strategy which included posts that inspire, educate, and entertain audience members who engage with the organization in very different ways.

Results

Through maintaining a consistent posting schedule, I increased the organization's  Facebook page reach by 66%, Twitter profile views by 25%, and LinkedIn engagement by 400+%.

Content Creation

For a non-profit in Los Angeles focused on economic justice.

Date

April 2020

Brief

With unemployment rising at an unprecedented rate, my task was to leverage social media to help BIPOC job seekers navigate economic uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What I Did

I developed a content series called #OpportunityAlerts, which showcased new job listings bi-weekly. Each listing was local, paid $20/hr.+, and was in a high-growth industry.

Results

This content series helped the organization gain over 1,000 followers on Instagram, increasing traffic to the website and bolstering program sign-ups.

Social Media Advertising

For a small woman-owned business based in Los Angeles, CA

Date

January 2023

Brief

Launching a small business is hard, especially when you have a full-time job, my task was to create an easy-to-follow ad strategy that can be maintained by a busy small business owner.

What I Did

I developed a target audience and ad strategy to help the store owner make more sales. To supplement the ads, I created a posting schedule, content pillars and easy-to-use social media templates in Canva.

Results

The store has received over 5000 views on its Instagram reels and has a consistent look and feel across each of its assets.

Social Media Workshops & Training

For a small team that runs a social media account for their youth-led program

Date

September 2022

Brief

The organization doesn't have the capacity or budget for a dedicated social media manager. My task was to develop their team's capacity to develop and implement a social media strategy.

What I Did

I hosted two 2-hour workshops that trained the team on developing audience insights and measuring their content performance.

Results

The team runs active Instagram and TikTok channels with youth-centric content that resonates with their audience.
