Social Media Strategy
for a non-profit in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on criminal justice reform.
Date
October 2021 - March 2024
Brief
This organization does incredible work, but their online presence didn’t reflect that. My task was to help them better reach staff, donors, and program alumni—giving them multiple opportunities to engage and encouraging them to donate or stay connected.
What I Did
I developed a robust content strategy across social media and email. This included posts and newsletters that inform, inspire, and entertain, tailored to different segments of the organization’s audience. I also crafted a fresh newsletter format that highlighted program milestones, partner events, and calls to action—making their email communications more compelling and useful.
Results
By maintaining a consistent posting schedule and producing timely, purpose-driven newsletters, I increased Facebook reach by 66%, Twitter profile views by 25%, LinkedIn engagement by 400+%, and newsletter open rates by over 30%.

With unemployment rising at an unprecedented rate, my task was to leverage social media to help BIPOC job seekers navigate economic uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What I Did
I developed a content series called #OpportunityAlerts, which showcased new job listings bi-weekly. Each listing was local, paid $20/hr.+, and was in a high-growth industry.
Results
This content series helped the organization gain over 1,000 followers on Instagram, increasing traffic to the website and bolstering program sign-ups.

Launching a small business is hard, especially when you have a full-time job, my task was to create an easy-to-follow ad strategy that can be maintained by a busy small business owner.
What I Did
I developed a target audience and ad strategy to help the store owner make more sales. To supplement the ads, I created a posting schedule, content pillars and easy-to-use social media templates in Canva.
